Background:

The keys to creating engaging 3D presentations using Presente3D are adding different layers of Z-Depth and Extrusion to Objects in on a slide.

Z-Depth:

Z-Depth values allow you to define how far forward on a slide or backward on a slide you would like to place an element. Any value in the Positive direction will move the shape out towards the screen while (-) negative values will push the objects into the screen.

Note: Normally a user will move objects in 5 to 10 unit increments to create different Depth Levels.

Extrude:

Extrude values will allow you to add thickness to any shape, text or image in a scene to create a  more depth perception on an object to create a pop effect.Extrude values work in same unit increments as Z-Depth. Extrude only works with positive numbers and will define the thickness of the newly created 3D object.

For example: If you move an object out 5 in Z Depth and you add an extrude value of 5 to the text it will create a thickness from from Z-Depth Distance of 5 to 0.

Note: Depending on the scale of your object the ideal extrusion distances are 1-3. The larger the shape the larger value you should use for extrusion. If you have very small text it is recommended you do not add an extrusion or add an extrusion level of .5

Tip for Extruding:

If you would like your extrusion to have a different color then the fill color it is recommended that you add an outline to your text this will then extrude in the outline color.
